We arrive in NYC on a Thursday afternoon (May 21) and left on Tuesday morning (May 26). This was to be our first anniversary trip. We had never been to New York, but heard many good things about it. In fact, we had never taken a real city type vacation ever, so this was a first. It was certainly an adventure! Taxis, the subway (yikes!), and people people people. Def. a non-stop trip and we were on the go the entire time.
Our first day, we arrived ready to hit the pavement.
We didn't do much that night. A nice dinner, a little sightseeing around our hotel -- we stayed at the Park Central Hotel - a few blocks from Central Park and Times Square - right in the middle of Midtown.
The next day, we started off with a boat tour of the island.

We saw the sights: The Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the famous bridges, and a great view of the city from the water. We also learned a little history about each sight and overall really enjoyed it. My only tip? Make sure you wear your sea bands! Good lord was I seasick!! Anyway, this was my husband during the entire tour:
ha :)
And this was what he was taking pictures of:

After some lunch, we checked out Times Square and some of the shops, and then headed over to Central Park before calling it a day with some pretty good pizza.

The next morning, we decided to start off just walking around checking out some sights.
Like... pretty architecture:

St. Patrick's Cathedral had a wedding going on so we watched for a bit.

We were still in awe at the number of taxis we saw:

The random waterfall in the middle of nowhere:

Then we stopped by Rockerfeller Center or Plaza or whatever. Radio City Music Hall was in the same area as well. We mostly took some nerdy pictures. ;)

Then we headed up to The Top of the Rock. We were 70+ stories up - it's comparable to visiting the top of the Empire State Building... except here, you can actually see the Empire State Building, so that was cool. We have a million pictures from our time here, so I only picked a few random ones to share.

That same day we also visited the Museum of Modern Art:

and Grand Central Station:
